I am currently attending school as well as working.  I have not had the time to plan the card class this year as I had hoped.  I do though have several kits from the past to offer.  Some of the cards I have just a few of and some I have several of.  This year will be a little different than the past.  I will have all of the cards available and you will choose the 12 you want to make.  I will be helping each of you as you need.  I have attached pictures of the choices available.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.  Looking forward to seeing you.

Back in school . . . . . .

Hi Ladies,

I went back to school in January and attended the local Adult School.  I did learn some stuff but not enough. In Sept. I started attending the local Junior college.  Checking my records, I cannot believe how many units I have completed.  I am going to check out what I need so I can finally get my AA degree.  I am currently taking a Illustrator and Photoshop class.  The college has much more homework to be completed.  All my spare time is doing homework these days. I have had a couple of projects I have been working on.  The first one was to make a mask design.  I made a beautiful butterfly using Illustrator and used it to make a banner for my Facebook page.  I am now working on a business logo.  This is what I have come up with.  What do you all think of my projects?  I hope to have time to be more creative and make the projects I enjoy.

Blessings,  Diane

Easter Projects

Hello,

I have made a few treat baskets for Easter goodies.  To make the boxes I used several Sizzix dies and Spellbinders nestabilities.  The images were some I gathered off the internet and added borders or elements to make them more finished for my projects.
Enjoy.

The Anatomy of Type

Hi,

I have recently gone back to school.  I am taking a Adobe In-Design and an Adobe Illustrator class.  I will later a Photoshop class.  I want to learn the programs well so that I can work as a Graphic Designer.  I have been design some of my own scrapbook paper and elements and other stuff for awhile with Publisher.  That program does not even come close to what these other programs can do.
This next we starts Chapter 3.  Have you ever thought about the Anatomy of Type or the Anatomical parts of a Letter??  Guess what I will be learning this week.  X-height, mean line, cap height, ascender, descender, descent, ascent, point size. How about apex, arm, bar, hairline, loop, shoulder, spine, stress, vertex, aperture, ball, beak, bracket, counter, crotch, ear, finial, serif, spur, swash and MUCH more,. Who ever knew letters had so much to them.
We do know that fonts and text visually do have an impact. Look at the Coke label, Disney has a style we all recognize. Businesses spend big money for a logo and font to be recognized.  There is so much more to it than most of us ever begin to think about.  This is something I need to learn.  It is time for me  to do homework.

Hello,

Today I have made cards using the same paper I used for my Valentine Banners. I really like how versatile the paper is.  With a few scraps and pieces you can create some beautiful cards.  I enjoy challenging myself to only use my scraps sometimes to make cards. It is amazing what yo can create with stuff you might think to throw away.  Yea,  I save lots and my office space gets cramped.  When I have saved TOO much I bag up my paper scraps and donate them to the High School art class.  The teacher and kids love to get them.  They have a very creative teacher that finds used for the paper.  If you have ever taken paper and recycled into new paper, you know how much fun that can be.  Kindergarten kids really have fun tearing up the paper and putting into a blender and making paper pulp. Then thy pour into the paper deckle and make paper.  Makes for a great teaching lesson.
The enjoy the cards for today.

Valentine Cards

Hello,

I have been busy creating Valentine cards with the left over pieces from making my banners. I used Nestabilities and Shapeabilities from Spellbinders for some of the layers on the cards. Spellbinders has so many awesome shapes to choose form.  Some of the paper I used is from Pinecone Press. I donate the cards to my church and sell them.  The money goes towards the women's ministry for whatever is needed.
Enjoy,
Blessings, Diane

Love Banner with new colors

Hello,

Here is the second Love Banner I created with different colored papers and design elements.
It is really hard to decide which color combo I like best as I LOVE both color combos.  So what is a girl to do?  Why, have two banners and hang them in different rooms.
A bonus for you when you finish your project is that you will have lots of fun pieces left to make tags for the sweet treats you give someone or make some Valentine cards.

I will be teaching a class for this banner. Click this link or the calendar on the upper left for information.
Let me know what you think of the banner.

Valentine Banner

Hello,

It is a new year.  I am looking forward to some changes in my life this year.  I have already signed up to take a Adobe InDesign and a Adobe Illustrator CS5 class.  Work, school, family and crafting.  I believe I will be very busy.  I am looking forward to the classes I will be taking, as I want to be able to design more of my own paper and elements for paper crafting.  My job is hoping to utilize me more at work also to help create paper designs, project headers and more. I took some elements I found and created some of my own elements and mixed a bit of both together to create my own paper for a Valentine Banner I made.  There are so many elements to decorate your banner you can really personalize it.
One sheet of four I created.  There are two different color palettes.
I will be teaching a class for this banner. Click this link or the calendar on the upper left for information.

Here is the beautiful banner I made.  It can be made to hang vertical or horizontal. You can also make it to sit on a table top.   Please let me know what you think.
